The initiative to participate in public competitions has always been present since the beginning of the creation of Traço Alternativo.

In fact, it was really at the genesis of its creation.

If in the first years, due to the almost absence of portfolio that brought consistency to the most varied elaborated proposals, and there were many, over the years and with more experience acquired, some prizes were being obtained.

In 2005, 2nd prize in the public competition for the swimming pools of Vila Meã-Amarante.

In 2008, 1st prize in the public competition for the Cineteatro de Évora.

In 2009, 2nd prize in the public competition for the Requalification of the Santo Tirso Market.

In 2010, 1st prize in the public competition for the Requalification of the Parque Ribeirinho de Olhão.

In 2012, 2nd prize in the public competition for the Requalification of the Marginal de Caminha.

In 2017, 1st prize in the public competition for the Municipal Library of Baião.

In 2019, 1st prize in the public competition for the Requalification of the S.Sebastião-Porto Market.

In addition to these prizes, some third places and honourable mentions were obtained.

In this course, of more than 50 elaborated contests, many adventures and injustices happened.

If until 2012 these contests happened naturally, after the crisis that took place in the country, they decreased in frequency and the number of competition proposals increased exponentially.

Traço Alternativo has entered this last decade into another dynamic, and public competitions have been relegated to the background.

However, they are part of our history. And whenever it is possible we repeat the experience, because it is a process of enormous learning that has always stimulated and allowed us to evolve.
